QotD: Best Mom Award

  • Post a comment

Besides yours, who do you think deserves "The Best Mother in the World" award?
Submitted by Connie.

When considering the award for the best mother in America, I give a great deal of thought to what a mother must deal with. I nominate Barbara Bush, George Bush's mother.

How many pair of shoes do you have? Out of those pairs, how many do you wear more than a few times a year?
Submitted by fightinggale.

I am not crazy about shoes. A lot of people do have an attachment for shoes. I own only three pairs of shoes. One pair to wear for dressier occasions and two for work and play.

QotD: Personality Trait = Trouble

  • May 3, 2008
  • Post a comment

What personality trait has gotten you in the most trouble?

The worst trait that I have is probably being too passive in the face of aggressiveness. I find that people tend to seek out passive and shy people when they need or want someone to manipulate or bully. Passive people back down and can be taken advantage of easily. They are basically loners and often ideal targets for manipulative, aggressive bullies.

QotD: Ghost Stories

  • May 1, 2008
  • Post a comment

Do you believe in ghosts? If so, have you ever seen one?

I believe that ghosts do exist and are usually the spirits of those who are trapped between two dimensions. Ghosts are either attached to someone or something here in this world and cannot find their way to God.

QotD: More, More, More

What would you like to do more of?

I would like to travel and visit exotic places around the world. If I had the resources I would be wandering through the jungles of the Amazon and climbing mountains in TIbet in search of enlightenment. I would hike the roads that once led to ancient Rome from all corners of the old empire.

If you're getting one, how are you planning on spending your tax refund?

I received my state and federal tax refund a month ago and it is already gone. Every dime of my refunds went to pay bills.

What do you love about where you live?
Submitted by Emu with a Clue.

What do I love about Barberton, Ohio? This is a difficult question to answer as I find there is little about my hometown that I love. I remember some good things that I liked about living here when I was younger, like the family oriented atmosphere that existed in the various neighborhoods. Things have changed since that time, and it seems that more and more families have given themselves over to living in their little secure strongholds or fortresses. Their homes have become defensive positions rather than homes. People no longer treat their neighbors with respect and kindness or even talk to them. It is a shame that with the advent of progress in America many good aspects of neighborhoods have literally died.

QotD: Lost & Found

What have you lost that you wish you still had?
Submitted by gunderson bee.

I lost my freedom of speech and the rights guaranteed me by the U.S. constitution sometime after I was born. Too many people who are incapable of coping  with their own lives, and problems feel it is necessary to control mine. Perhaps one day i will regain control of my life. I really do not believe that I could do a worse job than anyone else in the living of my life.

QotD: Saturday Night

  • Apr 5, 2008
  • Post a comment

How are your Saturday nights different now than they were five years ago?

Saturday nights are pretty much the same for me as they were five years ago. Twenty years ago is quite a different story altogether. I can still remember going to different discos and gasthauses when I was stationed  in Germany.
Good wine, great beer, and fantastic friends!

QotD: Spring Cleaning

  • Apr 3, 2008
  • Post a comment

Are you planning on doing any spring cleaning this year? If so, please share a cleaning tip you swear by.

I plan to clean out and utilize an extra bedroom for a private, personal office. I will need to do some extensive cleaning before I can use the room for an office. When I clean I like to use Windex or similar product because it can be used as an all around cleaner.
